Information About The Horns, Crondall

  • The Horns combines a traditional English rural pub feel with that of a country dining room offering unpretentious locally sourced and home made food at value for money prices.

The Horns offers traditional country inn hospitality serving home made locally sourced food.

Specialising in a range of home made pies, quality “pub grub” and more esoteric offerings, as well as a renowned Sunday Lunch menu the Horns is the ideal venue for a “drive out” meal or family celebration.

Whilst food is a very important and integral part of what the Horns is all about the hostelry still retains the old world charm and ambience associated with a traditional country pub. The team are keen to ensure that this remains the case at a time when many establishments are rapidly becoming homogenised.

As well as a lovely bar area and covers for 36 plus diners the Horns offers an attractive patio for al fresco drinking and eating and traditional pub activities such as a Sunday evening quiz night, darts on Mondays, acoustic music club on Thursdays and full classic rock bands on Sturdays are part of the programme at this "proper pub"

Double en suite B&B room available for £60 per night including full breakfast.

At the Horns we are proud to offer a range of real ales from the renowned Greene King Brewery in Suffolk along with guest beers, lagers and spirits. Our wine list has been developed with specialist wine merchants Matthew Clark and offers an interesting and well balanced range of reds, whites and roses.

John StanilandJohn Staniland

The licensees at the Horns are John Staniland and Judith O’Connor. John has had previous experience of running a country pub some ten years ago for a two or three year period but has spent the vast majority of his career in the leisure management field (running leisure centres, health clubs, ice rinks and the like). He has therefore always been in a customer service environment and feels that a strong focus on high service standards is critical in running a successful pub. All feedback is gratefully received!

Judith O'Connor Judith O'Connor
Judith, a Chartered Accountant who also holds an HND in Catering Management works full time as Financial Controller for a manufacturing company in Aldershot but will also find time to work a couple of  shifts behind the bar as well as keeping a professional eye on financial and administrative matters. An aficionado of real ales she did a ten year stint behind the bar at The Prince of Wales Farnborough.
Both John and Jude are keen to realise the potential of this traditional country hostelry and look forward to welcoming friends old and new along to the Horns.

John and Judith are pleased to have assembled a team of experienced hospitality professionals with Jako leading the kitchen and Louise in charge of front of house..
